Industrial Mitsubishi 6D16T engine of KATO crane has arived into the workshop for the overhaul. Customer complaint - significant oil and fuel consumption, blue smoke, poor power, overheating.

The cylinder head surface is damaged by heavy rust and erosion. After the gasket removal the deep cavities became visible. The cause is a complex of a factors: water usage instead of antifreeze, fuel system wear and misadjustment and so on.

The head is not repairable, replaced by new one.

There is a clear view of the piston group condition: absence of liner honing, scratches, pison sulfur corrosion.

All the liners and pistons assembly are replaced by new spares. Replacement of the bearing shells, temperature regulator, fuel injectors, turbo cartridge. An injection pump is repaired/adjusted. All the necessary adjustments have been performed also. Starting the engine up, test on different idle RPM - OK.
